The Kamloops storm are excited to announce that Geoff Smith has accepted the position of head coach for the 2011 2012 season. Geoff brings a wealth of knowledge both from the professional ranks as a player and the western hockey league as assistant coach of the Kamloops Blazers. Geoff played 462 games in the NHL with Edmonton Florida and New York Rangers. Smith also played for the Kamloops Blazers in 1988 1989 with 35 points in 32 games. During his time with the Blazers Geoff was the Blazers team captain and also represented Canada in the World Championships in 1989 as a Junior and again in 1993. Geoff will be a great fit with our current assistant coaches Brent Fritz and Brad Priestlay. Smith will be the sixth coach with the Storm since moving to Kamloops 5 seasons ago following Bryant Perrier, Ed Patterson, Steve Passmore, Greg Hawgood and Tyler Liebel.

Kamloops Storm have a new head coach Ed Patterson has decided to return to the Storm after a four year absence Ed had been an assistant coach with the Kamloops Blazers for the past two seasons. Patterson who lead the Storm to two division finals and league championships will return to the Storm to try for a third title. Ed has also taken over the marketing for the Storm and KMHA
