Umpiring at Hastings Community Little League
Hastings Community Little League has a strong tradition of training and supporting youth umpires. Typically drawn from our players, but open to anyone, umpires may begin training from age 9 and work games once they have completed an initial training session offered through the league.
Players can umpire in any division below the one within which they play - Major division players can umpire Minor and Rookie games, and Minor division players can umpire Rookie games.
Umpire Clinics
All umpires must attend our annual umpire clinic held at Hastings Community Park Clubhouse. Clinic for both new and returning umpires, all divisions: Saturday, March 30th, 2024. Please fill out the form below to secure a spot at the umpire clinic:

Umpire Pay Rates
Rookie Games:
Plate Umpire - $15
Base Umpire - $10
Minor Games:
Plate Umpire - $25
Base Umpire - $15
Major Games:
Plate Umpire - $30
Base Umpire - $20
Rookie, Minor, and Major Game Umpires must sign in at the Hastings Park Concession to confirm they have umpired their game.
Player Safety

Hastings Community Little League also provides umpires with rule books and the Umpire in Chief is available to answer any questions, as well as lookout for our umpires' best interests and assure they are treated with respect at all times.
