Smart Hockey Magazine debuted in September 2008 and is currently entering its fifth season as the official publication of the British Columbia Hockey League.

Smart Hockey is published bi-monthly during the hockey season and is distributed by mail to subscribers and to fans of the BCHL's 16 teams at rinks around the league.

Smart Hockey is committed to providing exceptional coverage of the league and its players, as well as BCHL graduates who have moved on to play in the National Hockey League and other professional leagues in North America and Europe. Former BCHL stars interviewed and featured in previous editions of the magazine include Colorado Avalanche forward David Jones, Los Angeles Kings defenceman Willie Mitchell and Hockey Hall of Famer Brett Hull. Smart Hockey also aims to keep BCHL fans up to date with recent grads who are starring in the NCAA and CIS.
