USA Floorball will be conducting the Golden Gate Cup Championship Tournament at the Silver Creek Sportsplex in San Jose, CA Nov 9 - 11, 2018.
USA Floorball will hold a USA Floorball Referee Level 2 Clinic and USMU19 training camp at the Silver Creek Sportsplex in San Jose, CA Nov 9
Golden Gate Cup starts on Nov, 10, it will be in a round robin format. All playoffs and hfinals will be held Sunday Nov 11. All teams and free agent players should arrive in time for a possible Saturday MORNING time game. Everyone should plan to arrive by Friday evening.

ENTRY FEE, ROSTERS & PRIZING INFORMATION
In order for any division to take place, 4 fully paid teams must be registered prior to October 1, 2018.
If a division does not have 4 fully paid teams by October 1, 2018, the division will be cancelled completely, and you will be notified by your USA Floorball Tournament Director.
IDs will be required prior to the 1st game for all players, and could be checked throughout the tournament
Individual free-agent players who wish to participate may do so and will be placed on teams as needed.
Tournament cost is $600 per team. To secure your spot in the tournament, a non-refundable deposit of $600 is due at time of registration.
All players must be members of USA Floorball by the start of the tournament.
All players will receive USA Floorball prizing and post-game beverages. 1st, 2nd and 3rd place team trophies and banners will be presented immediately following the championship game. Additional iduvidual prizing will be awarded at the same time.
RULES: IFF rules are in effect except for the modifications listed below.
GAME TIME RULES
PERIODS
2 x 15 Min Periods
(No stoppage time, except for goalies and penalties.)
PENALTIES
MINOR = 2 Mins
MAJOR = 5 Mins
MISC. = 10 Mins
WARM-UPS: Five (5) minutes. The warm-up clock starts after the previous game is finished.
*OVERTIME:
NO ROUND ROBIN Games will use overtime or penalty shoots.
If undecided at fulltime the score is tied and both teams recice one point per team.
PLAYOFF GAMES
- At the end of the second period, the teams take a one (1) minute rest period.
- Teams do NOT switch ends at any time during the overtime period.
- A five (5) minute, stop time, 4 on 4, “sudden death” period will be played.
- Penalty(s) will carry over into the overtime and/or shoot out.
- If neither team scores, there will be a three (3) player shootout format. Visitor shoots first.
- If no winner is determined, then a “sudden death shootout” will be held with the visiting team shooting first, and each team getting a shot, until there is a winner.
- Three different players are required for first shootout. The same three players can be used during the “sudden death shootout”, only one time each. Then continue through the roster.
TIE BREAKER RULES TO DETERMINE STANDINGS POSITIONS
THE STANDINGS SHALL BE DETERMINED UTILIZING THE FOLLOWING POINT SYSTEM:
WIN IN REGULATION = 3 POINTS
TIED GAME = 1 POINT
LOSS IN REGULATION = 0 POINTS
IF TWO OR MORE TEAMS HAVE AN EQUAL NUMBER OF POINTS, THE STANDINGS SHALL BE DETERMINED BY:
THE FORMULAS SHALL BE APPLIED IN ORDER 1 THROUGH 4 UNTIL ONE FORMULA BREAKS THE TIE FOR A POSITION BETWEEN ALL OF THE TEAMS AT THE SAME TIME. ANY REMAINING TIED TEAMS THEN START THE TIE-BREAKER PROCESS OVER FROM STEP 1.
Note: To use the “Head to Head” tie breakers 1a, 1b & 1c, all of the tied teams must have played each other. However, if one team has defeated the other team(s) with which they are tied, they shall be ranked ahead of the other team(s).
A) THE STANDINGS POINTS ACQUIRED IN THE “HEAD TO HEAD” GAMES.
B) SUBTRACTING GOALS SCORED AGAINST FROM GOALS SCORED IN THE “HEAD TO HEAD” GAMES. THEIR POSITIONS SHALL BE IN ORDER OF THE GREATEST SURPLUS.
1. DIVIDING THE GOALS SCORED IN THE “HEAD TO HEAD” GAMES BY THE GOALS SCORED AGAINST, THEIR POSITIONS BEING DETERMINED IN ORDER OF THE GREATEST QUOTIENT.
*If a team forfeits any of its games in round-robin play, the team forfeits all of its games and the games shall be recorded as 1 - 0 victories for the non-forfeiting teams. (In the event of circumstances beyond the control of the team, an appeal may be made to the tournament committee, whose decision is final.)
2. “Using All Games Played”: IF, AFTER APPLYING THE FORMULAS OF 1a, b or c THE TIE STILL EXISTS, 1b and c SHALL BE APPLIED USING ALL OF THE GAMES PLAYED BY THE TEAMS TIED.
THE FORMULAS SHALL BE APPLIED IN ORDER 1a, b, c AND 2 UNTIL ONE FORMULA BREAKS THE TIE FOR A POSITION BETWEEN ALL OF THE TEAMS AT THE SAME TIME. IF TEAMS REMAIN TIED, CONTINUE TO FORMULAS 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8.
3. IN THE GAMES PLAYED BETWEEN THE TIED TEAMS, POINTS WILL BE AWARDED FOR EACH PERIOD WON (2 pts.), FOR EACH PERIOD TIED (1 pt.) AND FOR A SHUTOUT IN A PERIOD (1 pt.). POSITIONS SHALL BE IN THE ORDER OF HIGHEST POINT TOTAL, ETC.
4. IF AFTER APPLYING THE ABOVE FORMULAS THE TIE STILL EXISTS, #3 SHALL BE APPLIED USING ALL OF THE GAMES PLAYED BY EACH TIED TEAM.
