2009 X-Treme Hockey Camps


The Calgary Oval X-Treme is part of the Olympic Oval's High Performance Female Hockey Program which offers female hockey summer camps in conjunction with the Calgary Oval X-Treme and University of Calgary Dinos women's hockey team. 

For the 2008 summer, the Olympic Oval offers two female hockey camps;

Dino Female Hockey Camp - July 27 - 31, 2009
Camp
for developing novice and atom female hockey players.
Learn skating skills, strategy, and technique and find out what it takes to be an elite athlete from coaches and players from the Calgary Oval X-Treme, Canada's best female hockey club!

REGISTRATION
  • Olympic Oval summer camps can be registered through online registration, with other University of Calgary, Faculty of Kinesiology summer camps and programs. Check the main Camps for Kids web site for Faculty of Kinesiology camp and program registration.
  • Olympic Oval summer camp registration will not be available on this site until March 1, 2009.

CAMP HIGHLIGHTS
  • Have fun learning from the best instructors in female hockey, including players and coaches from the University of Calgary Dinos women's hockey team.
  • Improve your individual skills and team tactics
  • All participants receive a hockey camp jersey
  • Two ice sessions per day
  • Participate in a variety of off-ice sessions;
    • Dry land training, team building games, exercises, skating imitations, flexibility and agility training and more

REQUIREMENTS

 
  • Participants must bring their own skates, sticks and full equipment, a complete list of required equipment is provided with registration
  • Participants must bring appropriate indoor and outdoor clothing; extra socks, running shoes, shorts, t-shirt, sweats, light jacket and sunscreen
LOCKER ROOM
  • Locker rooms are available for all hockey school participants
  • Team leaderd will have this key and ensure the room is locked at all times
  • Please do no bring valuables
LUNCH
  • Participants are responsible to provide their own snacks and to bring a water bottle
SKATE RENTALS AND TECH SERVICES
 
CAMP SCHEDULE
  • Camp hours are Monday to Friday with camp start and end times varying depending on the group you are placed in
  • Participants will be emailed with their schedule prior to the start of camp
  • Camp will run between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. 
  • Camp check in will be on the first day of camp and will be included in the schedule
  • Parents/guardians are responsible for checking their child in/out of camp at the beginning and end of each day
  • If the parent/guardian chooses, they may complete a form during the initial check-in allowing their child to leave on their own

COACHING

  • Approximately three coaches are available to every 30 participants
  • Coaches are Calgary Oval X-Treme and/or UC Dino hockey players or coaches with elite female hockey experience
  • All coaches are first aid certified and have coaching education.
PARKING
  • A 15 minute drop-off and pick-up pass for University of Calgary lots 10, 11 or 12 is included in the registration fee and will be delivered with the camp confirmation
  • This pass is only good for picking up and dropping off
  • If you would like to stay for any length of time you may park in lot 10 for approximately $3.25 per day

X-Treme High Performance Female Hockey Camp

Camp for high performance PeeWee, Bantam and Midget female hockey players.
Learn skating skills, strategy, technique and find out what it takes to be an elite athlete from coaches and players from the Calgary Oval X-Treme, Canada's best female hockey club!
