PJHL/VIJHL ALL-STAR GAME SUNDAY
- Submitted by

The Prospects from the PJHL and VIJHL put on a show a few weeks back, now the All-stars will take to the ice on Sunday (January 26) at the Ladner Leisure Centre across the Georgia Strait for the first-ever PJHL/VIJHL All-star Game.

The Delta Ice Hawks are hosting most of the best players from the Pacific Junior Hockey and our league.

Brody Coulter of the Victoria Cougars is the VIJHL Head Coach and he’s thrilled to be behind the bench, “If the Prospects Game is any indication, this year’s format should make for a very exciting game. The league is sending over a very talented group.” Coulter goes on to say, “A lot of these guys are bitter rivals for 6 months of the year so it’s going to be fun to watch them compete together.”

The VI Bench Boss will be joined by his Cougars’ coaching crew, “As a staff, it’s an honour to be awarded this game. We made it one of our goals at the start of the season and with the parody in the VIJHL, we are obviously thrilled to be in this position.”

Here is the roster for the VIJHL All-stars:

Josh Lingard (F), Riley Braun (F), Tanner Wort (F), Thomas Spink (D) and Skylar Diamond-Burchuk (D) from the Peninsula Panthers;

Dawson Heathcote (F), Landon Dziadyk (F) and James Brendeland (G) from the Oceanside Generals;

Ryan Strange (F), Evan Abgrall (D) and Jake Wilhelm (D) from the Saanich Braves;

Bryce Irwin (F) and Evan Easton (F) of the Victoria Cougars;

Josh Pederson (F) and Kyle Jennings of the Campbell River Storm;

Brendan Rogers (F) and Dylan Hartl (D) from the Nanaimo Buccaneers;

Chase Klassen (F) of the Westshore Wolves;

The puck drop will be at 2:45 pm, Sunday (January 26), on www.playfullscreen.com (the online streaming service provider for the PJHL). There will be regular updates, along with pregame and post-game interviews on the VIJHL twitter account, @vijhlofficial. On the ‘VIJHL Breakout’ podcast to be released on Thursday (January 23), host Mark Berry will be joined by this week’s co-host, Brody Coulter to talk about the game and other topics.

JORDAN NEUFELD
Comox Valley Glacier Kings

“Jordan (Neufeld) played his best hockey of the season over the past six weeks,” says Comox Valley Glacier Kings’ Head Coach, Jeff Dubois of the VIJHL Player of the Week (February 17-22). “On top of being our top offensive player, he brings a physical presence and puts in a lot of work on special teams. He was the driving force in our win on Monday over Campbell River and has scored a number of big goals this month.”
