The game was close for the first period and a half before the Penticton Vees started to take over. The Vees opened the game at 3:14 as Troy Stecher picked up a long rebound and snapped a wrister passed the blocker at 3:14 of the first. The Millionaires answered back a minute later as Shawn Mueller scooped up a rebound from in close and the game was tied 1-1 at 4:16 with assists to Daryl deVries and Skyler Smutek.
The Vees then scored 4 unanswered goals with 2 each in the second and third periods. James Polk scored his first of 2 with the extra man as he scored the go ahead and eventual winner at 8:23 of the second. A late goal in the period at 18:01 by Myles McCauley made it 3-1.
The Vees picked up 2 more in the third with Joey Benik scoring right off the face off at 8:58 and the scoring was wrapped up by James Polk and his second of the night at 11:53. Quesnel was 1-3 on the power play, while the Vees were 2-5. Penticton out shot the Mills 36-18.
