You've seen their roster, we've predicted their line combinations, but what do we see from a statistics point of view from the Port Adelaide Brewers.
You know I love my numbers, so let's dive in.
Yesterday we looked at the skaters of the Noarlunga Stars.
Here's a look at the Brewer's current roster and their point totals from the 2021 Premier League season in South Australia.

X-Factors - Not on the Stat Sheet
- Dylan Pope: Is a young and experienced Premier League player who has a few games of AIHL under his belt with the Adrenaline. He's over a point-per-game historically in the Premier League and was a key component of a good run of Junior Generals teams.
- Reece Boundy and Dan Strawbridge: Two guys this year who primarily played A-Grade. Boundy is a tough customer who loves a hit, a tussle and is becoming stronger on the skates. Strawbridge is an elite inline player in his second year of playing Ice. People are high on his potential.
- Jake O'Brien: A Canadian who has lived in South Australia in the past, was in Canada the last decade, and has grown up in the Great White North playing hockey. What he brings is anyone's guess...but it could be good.
- Jayden Ryan, Harley Anderson, and Tomek Sak: Three AIHL bodies that are very productive in Australia's top competition. If they come from interstate, that's a huge addition.
- Filip Moravec: A really intriguing one. He's played Czech Junior hockey and pro division three hockey. That could spell trouble for opponents.
Some interesting stats
- With an average age of 28.6, the Brewers are the oldest team in the competition. The Stars (25.1) are the youngest.
- The Brewers players average 0.93 points per game (177 points in 190 combined games). That's the most of the three NHSL teams.
- Red Wing Count! Including General Manager Bill Newbound, Head Coach and goalie Andrew Glass, Mitch Villani, there are eight Red Wings on the Roster. The other clubs? Two Red Wings on the XTreme and 0 Red Wings on the Stars.
- On paper, the Brewers are set to have the most productive offensive defense. The defense averaged 0.8 points per game as a group in the Premier League this year. That is paced by Aussie national team player Zach Boyle who had 27 points in 20 games this year.
- To be honest, that last stat is a little deceiving. While Zach Boyle and Adam Wise were productive offensively, there's not a whole lot of game time experience in the rest of the group. Boyle and Wise combined for 40 of the 56 games played from the defense. Who will step up? What does Jake O'Brien look like? Can Dan Strawbridge make the leap to NHSL? That will be a big question for what looks like a high-scoring team.
- The Brewers can score and they are balanced. They have five players who scored at least 10 goals this season - the most in the competition.
- Let's do a championship tally! There are 20 Premier League Championships on this roster...the most in the NHSL! However, Ben Handberg is the only person to win a championship in the last two seasons...
