Aldergrove Kodiaks 5 / Ridge Meadows Flames 2

Aldergrove leads best-of-7 series 1-0

One of the hottest teams in the PJHL to finish the season kept the momentum going into the postseason with a Game 1 win. The Kodiaks started their scoring in the first period with an odd-man rush led by Dayton Spink who connected with Cobe Dean and fired it top shelf on Chad Cromar. The Ridge Meadows offence sparked in the middle frame with two goal in over minutes. First, rookie defenceman Matthew Tyszka capitalized man advantage at 1:40, at Nicholas Amsler gave the Flames their first lead 6:53. The Kodiaks got a power play goal of their own at 11:32 to tie the game once more. With the game tied into the third, it was the home team that pulled ahead with Lucas Thompson and Carson Preston extending the Aldergrove lead and preserving the win.
