CHILLIWACK (July 17th, 2020) - The Chilliwack Jets have announced that Dylan Devers will serve as their first captain in franchise history.
The 2000-born forward will be entering his final year of junior hockey and will do so with his hometown team. Devers was acquired by the Jets in late May through a trade with the Mission City Outlaws. In 2019-20, Devers split time between the Outlaws and the Nanaimo Buccaneers of the VIJHL, tallying over a point per game with each club.
“Dylan is a great player and even a better person off the ice. His peers respect him and the younger players look up to him,” says head coach Clayton Robinson, who previously coached Devers with the Buccaneers and in minor hockey. “I have no doubt he will thrive in this position and lead us to success this upcoming season.”
The expansion Jets will play their first season in the Pacific Junior Hockey League out of the Sardis Sports Complex. The remainder of the Jets’ leadership group will be announced at a later date.
