The Whalers jumped to an early lead on home ice in Game 1 with Chris Fortems and Matthew Burry tallying goals in the first period, both goals coming before the midway mark of the period. The Wolf Pack dominated the middle frame by outshooting the Whalers 14-4 and responding with a pair of goals from Devon Bailey and Lucas Barker, the latter on the power play. In the third, a sharp-angle shot from Kalem Burns at 5:41 proved to be the eventual game winner, giving the White Rock its first playoff victory in franchise history.
Langley Trappers 5 / Mission City Outlaws 4
Langley leads best-of-7 series 1-0
The Trappers drew first blood with goals from Anthony Bosnjak and Brendan O’Grady to open the game. In the second period, Bosnjak was able to double his goal total 1:20 into the period. From there, it was a back-and-forth affair that saw both sides trade goals. Justin Plett and Dawson Reinfjell got Mission on the board, and Carter Graham added an additional marker for Langley. Mission got to work to even the hockey game with Matthew Konrad scoring on the power play at 9:34. A late goal from Dylan Tonks at 17:52 got the Outlaws even and sent the game to extras. In overtime, it was Jacob Astles beating Daniel Zuvic at 4:36 to give Game 1 to the Trappers and their 3rd playoff overtime win in team history. Ajeetpal Gundarah made 47 saves for his first career PJHL playoff victory.
Aldergrove Kodiaks 4 / Ridge Meadows Flames 3
Aldergrove leads best-of-7 series 2-0
The Kodiaks proved that no lead is safe, especially in the playoffs. A scoreless first period led to the Flames getting two in the second thanks to Nick Marsh and Ryan Denney. Aldergrove would get on the board 53 seconds into the third with a goal from Tyler Cannon but Teddy Prior responded quickly to regain a two-goal lead for Ridge Meadows. This opened the gates for three straight Aldergrove goals in the span of 6:56, with CJ Corazzin, Carson Preston and Ty Pickering all contributing to the Kodiak comeback. Goaltender Dylan Black pushed 36 shots aside for Aldergrove.
