Mission City Outlaws 5 / Aldergrove Kodiaks 2
Game 2 of the Harold Brittain Conference Final commenced Thursday night in Aldergrove, with the Mission City Outlaws coming out with a 5-2 win over the Kodiaks and a 1-1 tie in the series.
Mission started the night strong with a goal from Mackenzie Adams only 1:34 into the game, his first of the postseason. The Kodiaks were able to equalize a short time later with a short handed marker from Carson Preston, but the Outlaws regained the lead at 12:55 when Aldergrove goalie Dylan Black left a rebound in the slot for defenceman Justin Plett who knocked home his 7th and gave Mission a 2-1 lead after the first.
Both teams exchanged goals in the second period, Dylan Tonks doubled the Outlaw lead at 7:08, and Tyler Cannon responded over a minute later to cut Aldergrove’s deficit to only one goal.In the third, coast-to-coast dash from Matthew Konrad at 13:10 proved to be the winner for Mission. A marker from DJ Horne with under five minutes remaining kept the game within reach for the Kodiaks, but a late empty netter from Konrad put it to rest. The loss is Aldergrove’s first in regulation dating back to Dec. 23, 2019.
Outlaws goalie Isaac Elias put aside 28 of the 31 shots he faced. The series now shifts to Mission with Game 3 on Saturday night.
