Inaugural Ultra Sevens Rugby event
will showcase youth sevens match

REGINA, Saskatchewan (May 7, 2012) — The inaugural Ultra Sevens Rugby match, slated for Saturday, May 12 at Regina, will feature a youth sevens game between the Junior Prairie Fire and the Notre Dame Hounds. The Prairie Fire, comprised of all-star high school players from the Regina area, and the Notre Dame Hounds of Wilcox, Sask., will play a full sevens game at halftime of the feature Ultra Sevens Rugby match, pitting the Prairie Fire against the Wolverines.

"We had an opportunity to feature a youth component with the event and looked to include local teams,” says Karl Fix, lead organizer of Ultra Sevens Rugby. “The Hounds are perennial provincial champions and the strongest high school team in the province, and they wil be taking on a team of all-star players from the Regina high school league.”
The highly anticipated Ultra Sevens Rugby debut, between provincial rivals the Prairie Fire and the Wolverines, will begin at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 12 at the Regina Rugby Club (4025 25 Ave.).
