With the busy season upon us, Rugby Canada is pleased to officially announce the National Championship Festival for 2012.
Rugby Québec will be the host for the National Championship Festival in Sherbrooke, Québec from August 6th to 12th.
The National Championship Festival is an annual showcase of athletes from the U16 Men's, U18 Men's and U18 Women’s categories in Canada, with the Festival playing host to more than 650 athletes annually. The Festival will see provincial-level teams from across the country compete in their respective age/gender categories. The teams will go head to head over the weeklong event until one team is crowned the National Champion for their division. National Age Grade Selectors from Rugby Canada utilize the National Championship Festival as a platform for identifying the country’s most talented up and coming athletes.
"The team at Rugby Québec, Bishop's University and the City of Sherbrooke have been working tirelessly to make this year's Festival a memorable experience and high class event for all involved," said Jennifer Smart, Manager of Events at Rugby Canada. "I think everyone [the teams, selectors and event organizers] is excited to be going to Québec and looking forward to a week of top level rugby and discovering all that Sherbrooke has to offer."
Rugby Canada is extremely pleased to have Rugby Quebec host this event over the summer and look forward to seeing all of Canada coming out to cheer on the present and future of rugby in this fine country.
