Blue wins All-Star Game #1 7-2
- Submitted by
The first All-Star Game of this year’s tryout camp favored the Blue side heavily in a 7-2 blowout.  Blue would score early in the first period and after that goal they would not look back. Michael Sabatini found Jake Wahlin with a great pass and Wahlin beat White goalie Trevor Gorsuch at the 2:51 mark to give Blue the 1-0 lead. It would not take long until Blue would add their second tally. Christian Lampasso would send the puck over the left shoulder of Gorsuch and it was 2-0. James Roll assisted Lampasso on the play.

White was unable to mount any kind of consistent offense the whole first period and only challenged the Blue goalie Collin Delia a couple of times, while his counterpart Gorsuch was under a lot of heat for most of the period. The crowd would get off their feet again as the period was almost over when Zach Saar for Blue and Seth Adams for White dropped the gloves. They wouldn’t have to wait long to do it again either, when they were through Joe Gambardella for White and Nick Lotito for Blue would take their turn. Gambardella and Saar are both Buccaneer returners.

It looked like a comeback was on to begin the second period as White came out looking better and 3:28 into the second period Tommy Telesca beat the new Blue goalie Nick Ellis to make it 2-1. Blue asserted their dominance once again, however, as Joshua Racek was assisted by Jack Jenkins and Blue pushed their lead to 3-1. The rest of the period would be controlled by Blue and White would be fortunate to not allow more goals throughout the period. With 14:34 gone in the period Patrick Grasso would add to the Blue lead as the puck bounced to him in front of the net and he snapped it into the back of the net. Luke Voltin and Saar would be credited with assists for Blue and they would take the 4-1 lead into the second intermission.

The game would go from bad to worse for White in the third period. At the 10:37 mark Voltin scored his first goal of the night to push the score to 5-1. Collin Delia would be back in the net for Blue in the third period and he made a number of great saves to keep White at bay. Voltin would score his second goal with five minutes remaining in the game and the rout was on for Blue as they went up 6-1. White would go with the empty net with about two minutes remaining and were finally able to beat Delia but the goal would not matter as it was too little, too late for White. Wayland Williams bounced one in for Blue with four seconds remaining to give us our final score on the night of 7-2.
