Building Sand Castles and the MWJHL 2012
Notice of our MWJHL AGM:This week on Thursday June 28 at Sport Manitoba Conference Room B from 7:00pm to 9:30 pm. Sport Manitoba is now located at 145 Pacific Ave. just east of Main Street. Any player is most welcome to attend as well as interested parents.
All teams must have a minimum of one repbut the AGM is open to interested players and / or parents of the league. We are also seeking volunteers for the Executive. Voting is limited to one vote per team and one vote per Executive member. A voting member must be present. Please e-mail me if you plan to attend at kkuppers@mymts.netbefore June 26. I would appreciate that.
Sheri Clarkwho played with the Polar Ice and was captain of the League and Provincial Champions in 2010-2011 is also a personal trainer for a local fitness business. As well, Sheri was just hired as an Assistant Coach with the new Sports School Female hockey team at Shaftesbury High School with Coach Eugene Kaminsky. Shaftesbury H.S. is part of Pembina Trails School Division. Sheri also played for the Herd of the WWHL and they were the Bronze medal winners at the 2012 Western Shield in the AA Divison. She played with former coach Ashley van Aggelen whom some of you may remember.
We love to publish stories of our players so please send us any new development with you whether it be hockey or something else. Most of all have a safe summer!
Registrations for 2012-2013 are trickling in with the Tips as the leaders in that category.
We are looking for former players of the MWJHL. Why? This coming year will mark our 9thyear for this 2012-2013 season and the year following from 2013-2014 will be our 10thAnniversary. We invite former players to be a planner on a committee and create a special Anniversary highlight for that year. We want it player driven for ideas. Hockey Manitoba also will celebrate its 100thAnniversary in 2014 as well. Please contact kkuppers@mymts.net. And pass this on.
Confederation College will host both the Prairie Blaze and the SilvertipsOctober 12-14, 2012 at the Fort William Gardens in Thunder Bay. So it is a road trip for the Blaze and the Silvertips. Their first trip.
