December 16, 2012 Main Responsibility of the General Manager
It is the responsibility of the Teams General Managers to
uphold and protect the integrity of the Canadian
Multicultural Hockey Championships by registering a team
void of any ineligible players.
December 16, 2012 Rule on Imports (Goalie)
Redefining the term “Import”
Teams may register ONE import goalie IF required. An
import is defined as a player whose cultural background is
not currently represented in the Canadian Multicultural
Hockey Championships. In the event that an import
goaltender is of a cultural background of a participating
team, the RIGHTS HOLDER must give permission via the
Director of Hockey Operations to the interested team. If
the RIGHTS HOLDER denies permission, the RIGHTS
HOLDER must register the goaltender to their active
roster.
December 16, 2012 Rule Changes for 2012
Delete Rule:
Professional and semi professional (defined as players
who are paid) players will not be permitted to play in the
Canadian Multicultural Hockey Championships.
Delete Rule
Teams will be permitted to register two "ICON" players
per team. An "ICON" player is defined as a player who
has had at least 25 games or more played in the National
Hockey League.
December 16, 2012 Playoff Formats
Premier Division
The top 8 teams will advance to the Elimination round
and will be seeded according to their placement after the
preliminaries. The seeding will remain throughout the
playoff round.
Heritage Division
The top 6 teams will advance to the Elimination round
and will be seeded according to their placement after the
preliminaries. 1st and 2nd seeds will get a bye. The
seeding will remain throughout the playoff rounds
Women's Division
Each team will play four games and the top two teams will
advance to the Final.

December 16, 2012 Television Broadcast Rules
It is imperative that team players must be in full uniform
(matching socks, official team uniforms etc.) Any player
not equipped with the proper attire will not be permitted
to play.
The Rogers Television play by play team will require
proper identification of registered players. Assigned
jersey numbers must remain with the assigned player
throughout the tournament.
December 16, 2012 Random Roster Check
The Director of Hockey Operations may conduct a random
player check for identification and cultural background.
Players must be able to prove within a reasonable doubt of
cultural identity. If a player cannot properly identify cultural
background, then a default of the game in which the player
has participated may be assessed. The General Manager of
the teams must be present.
