Apartment fire with animals inside! Please help if you can! |

Hello everyone!
Joel is a member of The Dead Poets and can sure use our love and support! (Please see below for a message and the Go Fund Me link.
Family and friends, it is time to get together and help our own. While celebrating father’s day, Rosy and Joel received devastating news that their apartment caught on fire. The damage of the fire destroyed all of their belongings and their home. While this is difficult for them to process, they are overwhelmed by the health status of their pets. Zoey (their 2 year old golden doodle) and Melody (their 8 year old cat) were inside of the apartment during the fire. They have suffered from severe smoke inhalation requiring intensive vet care. Zoey was found unconscious in the kitchen and is currently on a ventilator and cannot breathe on her own. The vet bill is rising with the complications of her health. For those of you who know the family, know how special these animals are to them and the kids. Rosy and Joel deserve our help now to burden some of the pressure of providing the best care for their fur babies.Joel is a firefighter, dedicating his life to saving and helping others. And those of you who know Rosy, know she’s always front and center supporting. So please, let’s help them with whatever we can, even a prayer goes a long way. Thank you all!

William J. McHugh - A Legend in the New York Show Business Softball League |

William J. McHugh
June 14, 1934 - Apr 13, 2023
William J. McHugh, 88, of Aurora, formerly of New York, NY, passed away Thursday, April 13, 2023 at his niece’s home. He was born on June 14, 1934 in Aurora, IL.
Bill spent the first 20 years after graduating from Notre Dame University in Catholic education at St. Edward’s High School. He then spent the rest of his life in the modeling and acting world in NYC.
He is survived by his sister-in-law Lois McHugh; his nieces and nephews William and Kevin McHugh, Mary Beth York, Joseph McHugh, Jim Buckley, Kathy Platt, Sharon Regnier, John, Tom, and Mike Buckley, and Mary Dennin; and many great nieces and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Gertrude (Pendergast) and Francis McHugh; his brother Jack McHugh; his sister Mary Ann Buckley; and his nephew Bill Buckley.
Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at 11:30am at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church. Fr. Jerome Leake will officiate with interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

Turtle Rock Wins the 2022 New York Show Business League Championship |
|
Congratulations to Jimmy Cohen and Turtle Rock for winning the 3rd and deciding game against The Zookeepers 4-2 to win the 2022 New York Show Business Championship!
Congrats to both teams on a hard fought series and a big Congratulations to all the the teams for a great 2022 season! Hope to see you all out there again next year! |

Zookeekers and Turtle Rock split the first two games today in the best out of 3 series and will now have a winner take all game next Tuesday September 6th at 1pm on The Great Lawn. Best of luck to both squads! |

In Week 2 of the playoffs Turtle Rock defeated Harlem Public 3-0 and the Zoo Keepers beat Lions Head Tavern 5-4. Those two teams will start a best of three games series on August 30th at 12pm and if needed will continue on September 6th (at 1pm) with a winner take all matchup. |

Season Update (2020) |

Hello everyone,
As most of you have heard by now our 2020 summer season
has been cancelled. No field permits are being issued until
(maybe) September 1st. Shouldn't be a big surprise and
probably the right call for everyones safety.
HOWEVER.....please be on the look out for an email from your
managers which should include a survey link about a possible
Fall Ball (Sept/Oct) mini season. If there is enough interest
we will see what we can do to organize something if we are
able to get back out on the fields.

***2020 Season UPDATE*** |

Hello everyone,
we wanted to take a quick second to update the entire league
with what's happening with the upcoming 2020 season.
We are obviously looking at a delayed opening to the season
and there is no use putting a date on it at this point. We will
obviously continue to keep you updated as best we can with
the information we have. As sad as it is we are just going to
have to sit tight and wait this out.
We would love to still get a full 15 game season in but as they
say that’s truly “out of our hands” at the moment.
Please be safe and for all you ESSENTIAL workers still going
out there every day..... “THANK YOU”!!!
More to come and hopefully even a little softball at some
point.
