ANY PHYSICAL CONTACT WITH AN OFFICIAL WILL RESULT IN AN AUTOMATIC EXPULSION AND A LIFETIME BAN FROM THE BUILDING. IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF EACH TEAM TO CONTROL ITS PLAYERS. SHOULD YOU HAVE A PROBLEM, PLEASE SPEAK TO NEIL DIRECTLY. REMEMBER, THIS IS A FUN LEAGUE!!
The following are effective as of September 5, 2016
12. FORMAT: 30 GAMES MINIMUM, 32 GAMES MAXIMUM. ALL TEAMS GUARANTEED ONE EXHIBITION GAME AND AT LEAST THREE PLAYOFF GAMES. Teams that are eliminated from the playoffs early on will be permitted to play exhibition games. Please inform Neil at that time if your team is interested in these games.
The following are effective as of September 5, 2016
21. All ties will be settled by a best of three shootout. A player may not shoot twice until each player on the team (except the goalie) has shot once. Ejected players may not participate in the shootout. If the score is still tied after three shooters, the shootout will then be sudden-death. If a team outscores another team by two goals in the shootout, the goals count in the players’ statistics but only the winning goal counts towards the team and goaltending statistics. (i.e. if a game is tied 8-8 and the home team outscores the visiting team 2-0 in the shootout, the score will be recorded as 9-8.) Once all players have shot, the order must be respected (If the game remains tied). All shooters going for a second or third shot must shoot in the same order as the first time around

24. Increased strictness of penalties and suspensions: - During game play: An effort will be made to prevent fighting between teams. At the first instance of a fight, whether it be gloves dropped, pushing in the corner or general “yapping”, penalties will be assessed, in addition players who do participate in a fight will be removed from a game and a report will be written up. Dropping the gloves will automatically result in at least a one game suspension (even if no punches are thrown). - Suspensions: A strict policy will be enforced during the season. If a player is involved in an incident, then he will be suspended at least one game. The suspensions will increase on a rising scale: 1st offence - 1 game suspension 2nd offence - 3 game suspension 3rd offence - 5 game suspension and possible expulsion from the league. Any penalties or suspensions are subject to the discretion of the league supervisor on duty, referee in chief and Neil. They will have the final say. In addition, suspensions and warnings will be emailed to all captains, while permanent records will be kept.
The following are effective as of September 13, 2012
1. All teams must complete the waiver forms, the captain's agreement and have all payment arrangements made (e.e. post-dated cheques, pre-authorized credit card) prior to teh first league game. Teams paying in full before the season will receive a $150.00 discount for their team.

2. There will be no payment exceptions. Teams will not be permitted to play until their team account has been cleared up.

3. Please ensure that the scoresheet is complete for each game in order to keep all statistics as accurate as possible. Teams will not receive any personal statistics if the scoresheet has not been completed and given to the scorekeeper prior to each game. Any player not marked on teh scoresheet will not receive a game played. This may become a factor come playoff time.

4. Each player must play a minimum of 5 league games in order to be eligible for the playoffs. An eligibility list will be available on the website. The use of illegal players will result in a forfeit of that game, and possibly the entire playoffs. This is non-negotiable.

6. FIGHTING WILL NOT BE TOLERATED. The first offence will result in a one game suspension, the second a three game suspension while the third offense will result in an automatic expulsion from the league. All infractions are subject to the league coordinator's discretion. Any further off ice fighting will be handled by the police.

7. Any player that becomes involved in a physical altercation in the stands, hallways, dressing rooms or parking lot of the arena with another player, spectator, official or arena staff, will receive an automatic 5 game suspension. A team in violation of arena rules may be barred from the arena for the remainder of the season with no refund.

8. A spare who is not a regular player on any P.H.L. team, who is suspended at all during the course of the season, will be barred from playing any more games for the remainder of the season.

10. All teams must designate a captain to wear the "C" on his jersey.

11. Each team is responsible for providing their own jerseys with numbers. Spare jerseys will be available in the case of a color conflict.

13. Teams are not permitted to bring alcoholic beverages and food into the building. There is a full restaurant and bar upstairs.

14. Line changes are permitted on the fly, after a goal, penalty or injury only. Pulling the goalie is NOT considered a line change. If play is stopped for an injured player, that player must leave the ice. Changes are allowed in the final minutes of the period when the clock is stopped. It will be stopped for the last minute of the 1st period, the last minute of the 2nd period, and the final two minutes of the 3rd period, as long as the game is within 3 goals.

15. Please ensure that your team is ready for the start of each game as the puck will be dropped on time. Once the Zamboni has resurfaced the ice, there will be a three minute warm-up and then the game will commence. Late teams will be penalized one penalty shot for every two minutes that they are late.

16. Three (3) minor penalties will result in an expulsion from that game only (please note these can be ANY 3 infractions).

17. A player receiving a minor penalty will be sent off the ice for one shift.

18. No penalty shots will be awarded for coincidental minor penalties. The players involved in the altercation will be sent off the ice for one shift.

19. Late players may enter a game at any time. This rule applies to regular players only, not spares. SPARES CANNOT BE TAKEN FROM OTHER TEAMS IN THE SAME LEAGUE.

20. Standing tie-breakers: wins, plus/minus, goals for, head-to-head records, plus/minus in head-to-head games, coin toss.

22. All participants accept the inherent risks involved in playing competitive ice hockey. All participants must wear proper protective equipment, failure to do so exposes players to possible fines and injuries. A helmet with a minimum half visor must be worn at all times, and must have its strap properly secured. If a player loses his helmet, he must put it back on or return directly to his bench.

23. Supervisor on duty: A non-referee will be present every night during league play to ensure that all issues are taken care of (i.e. balances to be paid, handing out score sheets prior to the game, monitoring of potential problems, handling off ice issues, etc.). If there is a problem during a game, with the other team or the referee, please speak to the supervisor right away.
