OT Battle
Game 1 of the PJHL Final was a hard fought battle between
the Saskatoon Royals and the Pilot Butte Storm. The Storm
had the only goal of the first period, but with 2 goals 30
seconds apart in the 2nd the Royals took the lead into the
3rd. Early in the 3rd the Storm evened the score, so it was
off to overtime. The Royals Shane Pickett ended the game
with a wrist shot to the far side 5 min into the period.
Jeff Olson had a goal and an assist, Zach Bida had the other
Royals goal. Game #2 goes Sun. March 27/11, 7:30 pm @ Harold
Latrace Arena in Saskatoon.

The Saskatoon Royals are moving on to the PJHL Finals as
they defeated the Tri Town Thunder 5-2 in game. They take
the best of 7 series 4-1 and will now face The Pilot Butte
Storm.

assists. Shane Pickett (pictured), Trent Sievert, and Travis
Robson all added singles. Royals goalie Tanner Hamilton had
a strong game, winning both game 4 and 5.

WOW. That was exciting!
The Royals took a 2-0 lead in the best of seven North Final
with a 3-2 victory over the Tri Town Thunder. But it was
closer than they would have liked. The Royals jumped out to
a 2-0 lead on goals from Shane Pickett and Rhett Fairburn.
The Thunder were able to tie the game and it looked to be
heading to overtime, but Ryley Albert of the Royals
converted on a scramble in front of the Thunder net to seal
the victory with 16 seconds left. The Royals now travel to
Carrot River on Tue and Thur for games 3 and 4.

Ryley Albert set the pace with 2 goals and 2 assists as the
Royals took game 1 of the North Division Finals 5-2. Cody
Ito, Taylor Greenbank and Michael Pylypow all added singles.

Sweep!
The Royals completed a 4 game sweep of the Prince Albert
Icehawks with a 7-5 victory in game 4. Sean Finnson led the
way with a pair of goals. Clint Hanikenne had a strong game
scoring once and adding 2 assists. Travis Robson, Cody Ito,
Trent Sievert, and Ryley Albert rounded out the scoring. The
Royals will now play the Tri Town Thunder in the best of
seven North division Final. The schedule will be released

The Royals downed the Prince Albert Icehawks 7-1 to take a
commanding 3-0 lead in their best of seven series. the
Royals seven goal scorers were Travis Robson, Shane Pickett,
Clint Hanikenne, Cody Ito, Michael Pylypow, Ty Gardiner,
Sean Finnson.

The Royals took a 2-0 lead in their best of seven series
with the PA Icehawks. Micheal Pylypow set the pace with 2

The rust was really evident when the Royals played game 1 of
the North Division Semi Final. Trent Sievert led the way
with 3 goals. Ryley Albert had 1 goal and 2 assists. Zach

singles to round out the scoring. Game 2 goes Sun Feb 27/11,

The Royals finished off the regular season with an 8-3
victory over the visiting PA Icehawks. Zach Bida and Trent
Sievert led the way with two goals each. Jon Farber had a
strong game with 1 goal and 3 assists. Michael Pylypow,
Dylan Friend, and Ryley Albert added singles to round out
the game. The Royals will get a first round bye. Playoffs
will start for the Royals around Feb. 25/11. Check back for

The Royals defeated the West Central Rage in back to back
games 9-3 and 11-2. The Royals next home game is Wed. Feb.
2/11 vs the Saskatoon Quakers. There are only 4 games

Cody Ito led the way with 2 goals. Jeff Olson, Shane

The Royals broke the curse of the "Purple Jersey" with a 5-1
victory over the Quakers. Cody Ito led the way with a 4
point night, 1 goal and 3 assists.The Royals welcomed back
defenceman Andy Boire who had 2 goals after nearly a 3 month
absence. Kyle Jones and Ryley Albert rounded out the scoring
with a goal each.

Down 3-0 to the Regina Capitals after the 1st period. Cue
the come back. The Royals, led by Hayden Cameron's hat
trick, were able to pull out a 6-5 overtime win. The Royals

Fairburn Nets Trick
The Royals got an outstanding effort from goalie Tanner
Hamilton and a hat trick from Rhett Fairburn as the Royals
defeated the Westleys 4-3. Sean Finnson added a single to
round out the Royals scoring.

Journeyman Effort
Playing their second game in 2 days, still under the
weather, the Royals defeated the Delisle Chiefs 3-0.
Goaltender Derek Arsenie, in his final game as a Royal as he
heads to Florida for the Canadian National Softball Team
trials, put
in a masterful effort to earn the shutout. The Royals want to
wish Derek good luck in his try outs and thank him for his
dedication this year. The Royals got
goals from Jeff Olson, Ryley Albert, and Rylan Oleksyn.

The Royals defeated the Prince Albert Icehawks 8-4.The
Royals, hit by the flu bug, had only 14 skaters. Michael
Pylypow led the way with 3 goals. Sean Finnson added a pair,
while Ryley Albert, John Keewatin, and Kyle Jones all
chipped in with singles.

Bus Goes Boom
The Royals defeated the Regina Capitals 5-4 in an overtime
shootout. That wasn't the most interesting thing though. On
the way to Regina the bus the Royals were on blew its
engine. The game was delayed an hour as a replacement bus
was sent from Regina. The Royals were led by Ryley Albert
who notched a pair of goals. Hayden Cameron and Travis
Robson added singles. Jeff Olson scored the winner in the
shoot out.

It took a shoot out for the Royals to get past the
Ochapowace Thunder 5-4. The Royals were led by the Cameron
brothers with Hayden notching a pair and Marshal adding a
greasy one from behind the net. Travis Robson added a
single. Rhett Fairburn was the only shooter on either team
to score in the shootout.
