DIRECTOR, FINANCE & ADMINISTRATION
Mike Duffy
The Director of Finance & Administration provides leadership in the all areas of financial management and administers the operations of the Toronto office. This person is expected to build the financial processes to allow Rugby Canada to continue to be fiscally responsible and to be constantly focused on improving Rugby Canada’s day-to-day financial activities. Long-term planning of the union’s financial management and preparing and monitoring Rugby Canada’s annual and operational budgets is an integral part of this role. This person serves as a link between Rugby Canada and our independent financial auditors.
Mike Duffy is employed as the Director of Finance & Administration and has been with Rugby Canada for two years. Having spent over 20 years working with mid to large companies focusing on financial planning and reporting, Mike has an extensive amount of industry experience as a Chartered Accountant. Responsible for the financial and administrative management of the union, Mike has been instrumental in building the financial processes to allow Rugby Canada to become more fiscally responsible. Mike has improved Rugby Canada’s day-to-day financial activities and has been instrumental in the long-term planning of the union’s financial management. Mike is tasked with preparing and monitoring Rugby Canada’s annual and operational budgets and provides leadership for all financial reporting.
Mike graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University in 1988/1989 with a Bachelors degree and an Accounting Diploma. Mike is an avid sport enthusiast and is active in hockey, triathlon and adventure racing. Mike has coached minor hockey for the past ten years and currently coaches an Aurora Rep team.
Mike currently lives in Newmarket, Ontario with his wife Annick and two children, Ryan and Rachel.
