Metro Jets Hockey Club: About

The Metro Jets have been a member of the Central States Hockey League and its predecessor, the North American Junior Hockey League, since the 1989-90 season. The club has been based at Lakeland Arena in Waterford, Mich., for all but their first season.

During their tenure in the league, the Jets have won regular season titles in 1989-90, 1990-91, 1991-92 and 2000-01. The team was also league playoff champions in 1989-90, 2000-01 and 2001-2002. The Jets have made appearances at the USA Hockey Silver Cup tournament five times. Prior to winning the 2002 USA Hockey Silver Cup, the team's best finish came in 1992 when they were runners-up to the Northland Voyageurs of the Minnesota Junior Hockey League.

While maintaining a competitive team on the ice for more seasons than not, the Jets have successfully sent over 60 players to US Tier I and Tier II Junior A, NCAA Division II and III and Division I programs, as well as Canadian junior teams.
