HEAD COACH & GENERAL MANAGER
Bobby Henderson

Bobby, like his brother Taylor, is an integral part of Global Hockey Camps & Clinics as the Vice President of Hockey Operations.  Having spent five seasons in the BCHL, including a season as captain, with the Chilliwack Chiefs, Bobby has a vast knowledge of the game and has spent his post playing career teaching aspiring players the techniques of the game.  Following his BCHL playing career, he earned a scholarship to the University of Nebraska Omaha where he played for four seasons. He's in his fourth year as part of the Rivermen Coaching Staff and third year as both Head Coach and General Manager.

ASSOCIATE HEAD COACH & ASSISTANT GENERAL MANAGER
Jon Calvano

Jon Calvano is entering is fifth season in the BCHL and second with the Langley Rivermen. Prior to Joining the Rivermen Jon Spent three seasons as Head Coach and General Manger of the Coquitlam Express where he led the team to two BCHL Playoffs and set a team record for most points in a season. Prior to joining the Express Jon lead the North West Giants of the BCMML to Two Provincial Championship three League Championships and Three Macs Midget Finals and one Championship, also was Awarded BC Hockey Coach of the Year in 2008. 

ASSISTANT COACH & DIRECTOR OF PLAYER PERSONNEL
Kurt Astle

Before joining the Rivermen, Kurt spent three seasons playing Junior “A” in the SJHL with the Melfort Mustangs. His last season in 2006-2007 was his best as he led the league in scoring with 94 points and earned himself a scholarship to Merrimack College. He finished his college career at St. Norbert and won a national championship with the Green Knights in 2010-2011.  A Burnaby Winter Club alumnus, Kurt is now active in the development of young players as a coach at BWC.

GOALTENDING COACH
Ron Veit

Ron Veit has been training and placing elite goaltenders into the NHL, NCAA, College, and Junior leagues since the establishment of Veit Goalie Schools in 1998. Ron has 14+ years experience coaching in the BCHL, four years with the UBC Thunderbirds, and four years with the WHL Tri-City Americans. Ron's extensive experience and expertise in the industry is what allows him to train goalies at any level to play at their highest potential.

SKILL DEVELOPMENT COACH
Burt Henderson

Burt began his junior hockey career in the BCHL back in 1991 where he won a National Championship with the Kelowna Spartans in 1993.  He then went on to play 3 seasons in the WHL with the Kelowna Rockets, serving as team captain in his final year and taking home League All-Star Honours. 

Burt decided to turn pro in 1996, embarking on a 13 year playing career in the ECHL, IHL and the Asia League.  He finished his last 2 seasons playing in the British Elite League, serving as a Player/Assistant Coach in his final year.  After his days as a player, Burt served as an Assistant Coach for the SFU Men's Hockey team winning the League Championship in 2011.  Along with his work with the Rivermen, Burt coaches at the Burnaby Winter Club.

CONSULTANT
Pasco Valana

Valana is currently the owner and operator of Elite Goalies Canada and has been training goaltenders professionally for 20 years. Pasco served at the Chief of Athlete Services for Ice Hockey at Vancouver's 2010 Winter Olympics and is the Vice President of Development for ICOACH.com  He has developed 49 NCAA Scholarship goaltenders, 11 NHL draft choices, 1 Royal Bank Cup Champion, and 2 Hobey Baker Award finalists in his career.

ATHLETIC THERAPIST
Brayden Tonogai

Brayden is entering his third season with the Rivermen.  A Certified Athletic Therapist, he graduated from Mount Royal University with an Advancted Certificate in Athletic Therapy in 2011 after completing his degree in Kinesiology at Simon Fraser University in 2009.  While in Calgary, Brayden worked as the Athletic Therapist and Equipment Manager for the Midget AAA Calgary Buffaloes and was the Assistant Athletic Therapist in 2011 for baseball's Calgary Vipers of the North American League.  A baseball enthusiast, Brayden also coaches several local youth teams in the off-season.

STRENGTH & CONDITIONING CONSULTANT
Guy Demong

Guy has been involved with the fitness industry for over a decade and has been involved in its continual evolution into the world of Functional Movement Systems.  Guy has participated in some big accomplishments invluding the Breckenridge Adventure X-Stream 12 hour Adventure Race, the Oliver Half Ironman, the Seattle to Portland 1 Day Ride, and the Brodie Rat Race Cross Country Bike Marathon.

Paul Chung

Paul began his career with Innovative Fitness in the summer of of 2003 before eventually opening the Langley franchise in 2010.  Known for his ability to challenge clients and provide the necessary support to help them reach their goals.  Paul has completed numerous events, including internationally alongside his clients.  Some of his most memorable achievements include the New York Marathon, Machu Picchu, the Oliver Half Marathon, and mountain biking in Moab, Utah.

MENTAL PERFORMANCE COACH
Sean Heales

Sean graduated with BA from Simon Fraser University majoring in both English and Psychology. He went on to graduate from the Alder School of Psychology with a Masters degree in Clinical Counselling. Currently, Sean owns Logan Creek Counselling and Consulting and is a Registered Clinical Counsellor accredited by the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapist Association (CCPA) and BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC).  Sean has a long history in hockey from having played AA, AAA and Junior level hockey and currently coaching in LMHA in the initiation level. Sean has worked with local minor hockey, WHL, NHL prospects and ex-European players overcoming issues such as performance pressure, goal setting , overcoming injuries, as well as life issues

TEAM PASTORS
Jordan & Jennifer Bateman

Jordan and Jennifer Bateman are licenced ministers with the Canadian Ministers Association. Previously, they served on staff at Friends Langley Vineyard church and as lead pastors of Springbrook Church in Langley. They are sought-after wedding chaplains, having married off hundreds of couples over the past few years. In their "real" lives, Jenn is a single mothers services coordinator with the YWCA, while Jordan is the B.C. Director of the Canadian Taxpayers Federation. They live in Langley (2 minutes away from the Events Centre) and have three children: Indiana, 10, Danica, 6, and future Rivermen star Jackson, 3.  

POWER SKATING
Dennis Johnston

Johnston was fortunate to find himself leading a new wave in hockey instruction and helped develop a power skating certification program with the Canadian Figure Skating Association. He was working with 1,000 kids each week and held instructional camps throughout Canada, the U.S. and even Mexico. In the mid-1980s he worked with the WHL’s New Westminster Bruins and later did some contract work with the Vancouver Canucks. In 1991, he produced an instructional video with a number of NHL players providing demonstrations.
