The ScottBird.ca Red Rockets are your 2024 Barrie Masters Lacrosse League Champions. The Red Rockets were the class of the league this season. They rolled through the regular season with one loss in the final game of the regular season. The Champs opened up their playoff campaign with a convincing win over the 4th place Greyhounds. The Greyhounds would not go quietly in game 2 taking this one 7-6 on the back of some stellar goaltending. This forcing a full 10-minute overtime to see who would earn the right to go for title. Red would eventually get a couple goals with Grey unable to equalize and secure their spot vs The Blue Angels.
The Blue Angels were in tough with a very skilled Team Black. Blue would earn the victory over Black in Game 1. Game 2 saw black leading by as much as 5 goals. The Blue Angels would chip aways and end up forcing overtime. Down to Sudden Death Blue would complete the comeback and earn their shot at Red.
The Finals were now set Red Rockets vs Blue Angels. Game one saw the teams trading goals early until the red machine would eventually blow the game wide open and show the team in Blue they wanted payback for ruining their perfect regular season record. Game 2 wound up to be the game all were waiting for. Strong play from both teams but in the end it was the Red Rockets who would take the game 7-6 and hoist the Cup.
