Angry Pop Tarts 9 vs Purple Nurples 8 (2-0 in shoot-out)

What a match!  You expect that from the 2 top teams of the league, with some top scorers and the 2 top goaltenders.  It was back and forth for both teams.  Nurples got wind in their back at the end, too bad there were no overtime but shoot-out, but that’s the way it is.

Nurples opened the score when Ryan Strauss took a precise shot that got behind Adam Proulx.  2 minutes later, Simon Lamoureux got a precise shot top net that got the crossbar and the mesh, goal is good.  Simon does it again a few minutes later with a nice deke.  Nurples came back with 2 goals: Benji Teboul on a powerplay, intercepting the ball in front of the net and the shot is precise, and James Hutchinson with a shot from his defensive zone that deflected in front of the net, it’s 3-2.  2^nd period: Melissa Mancini, in front of the goalie received a pass and her backhand got behind the goalie, it’s 4-2.  Pop Tarts came back with 5 goals: 2 back to back goals by Simon Lamoureux with some magic in front of Martin Champagne and 3 goals by Émilie Badoux, on of those goals on a powerplay, it’s 7-4.  Nurples are not giving up and got 2 goals of their own: Benji Teboul and Chris Saunders, it’s 7-6.  3^rd period: Chris Freeman tied that game when he took his own rebound in front of the net.  A minute later, Émilie Badoux got her 4^th of the night when she received a nice pass in front of the net, her shot almost stopped by the goalie.  With 4 minutes left, James Hutchinson’s shot his precise, no chance for the goalie, it’s tied 8-8.

We go in shoot-out: Nurples are home team and they let Pop Tarts shoot first.  Stephanie Faludi is stop.  Nurples goes with Stéphanie Abado, but cannot pass the goalie.  Next for Pop Tarts is Mathieu Floriot but the goalie makes the save.  Next for Nurples is Ryan Strauss, stop by the goalie.  Nex for Pop Tarts his Emilie Badoux and her dekes in front of Martin got him and it’s a goal.  Next for Nurples is Katrina Novak, she is stop.  Next for Pop Tarts is Simon Lamoureux and once again, some nice dekes in front of the goalie and he scores to end that game.

For Pop Tarts: Simon Lamoureux and Émilie Badoux got 4 goals, Mathieu Floriot 3 assists, Joel Labadie 2 assists, Stephanie Faludi and Raffaella Tropea 1 assist.

For Nurples: Benji Teboul got 2 goals 2 assists, James Hutchinson 2 goals, Katrina Novak 2 assists, Ryan Strauss 1 goal, 1 assist, Melissa Mancini, Chris Freeman and Chris Saunders 1 goal, Stephanie Abado and Martin Champagne 1 assist.
