Another great weekend of handball is in the books. The 2nd edition of the Toronto Cup was held in Brampton on Nov. 4th and 5th with teams participating from Detroit, Westpoint Military Academy, the Greater Toronto Area.
After an action-packed weekend Westpoint Black (women) and Handball Club Toronto Orange (men) took home the championships in their respective divisions.
On the men’s side, HCT Orange took home the gold, after a hard-fought tournament. After day one, the team beat HCT Grey and Detroit Handball Club, and needed to win both games on Sunday to capture the championship. After a back-and-forth match between Detroit on Sunday, Orange won the match 25-23. In the final gam they were tested by HCT Grey, but managed to remain strong winning 23-18.
Omar Yassen (Detroit won Most Valuable Player of the tournament with Aleksandar winning Most Valuable Goalie.
