SCWHL suspends season of Cowichan Titans

At a special meeting of the South Coast Women’s Hockey League’s executive committee on Sunday, Dec. 4, a decision was made to suspend operations of the Cowichan Titans for the remainder of the 2022-23 regular season. All 10 games played by the Titans will be declared exhibition games, and the results will be omitted from the standings.

The schedule will be revised for the eight remaining teams by Dec. 16, no changes will be made to any games scheduled in December. Teams should check the schedule on the website after Dec. 16 to learn of changes to their schedule in the New Year.

The Titans have lost all 10 games they have played this season and have been outscored 100-7. Cowichan has also forfeited one game and have had two postponed due to the team not having enough players. It is the hope of the SCWHL the Cowichan Titans will regroup and reorganize, and be able to operate in the 2023-24 season.
