In a tight game featuring Brewzers vs Black Sox on July 7th, the Sox had the bases loaded in the bottom of the 5th with no outs.Sox Veteran Mark Vickery stepped up to the plate and hit a hard one bouncer back to Brewzers pitcher Paul Boisvert who was making his WISA comeback. Boisvert pounced on the ball and threw to catcher Denis Larochelle for a force out at the plate. Larochelle then threw a strike to Brewzers first baseman Corey Foster to retire Vickery for the second out. The Sox runner who never stopped running from second base then tried to surprise the Brewzers by attempting to score, but Foster threw a bullet back to the catcher to complete the triple play!
Truly a rare moment in WISA history in a game where the Sox - playing with only 8 men - shined defensively, supporting in a fine pitching performance by pitcher Ken Watson scattering 7 hits and fanning 7 Brewzers...Final score: 8-3 for the Sox.
