THURSDAY
The NCN Flames would travel west to take on the OCN Storm in a battle of the leagues top two teams. The first place Flames would get two third period goals and edge the Storm 4-3. Backstopped with 32 saves from Braedin Melstad, and with goals from Jerome Linklater, Henry Muchikekwanape (2) and Keistin Saunders would stake them to another two points. OCN would respond with markers from Hunter Bear, Logan MacDonald and Bryson Werbicki-Mallet. Braxton Constant would make 39 saves in a losing effort.
FRIDAY
The Cross Lake Islanders travelled south to begin a 3 game weekend against the Peguis Juniors at the Multiplex. After a slow start, followed by some exciting back and forth action, the Islanders would put the Juniors on ice with 1 second left and walk away with a 6-5 road win. Goals from Wilfred Mcleod, Dennis Scatch, Kadin Ross, Clinton Armstrong, Quinton Scatch and Julius Scribe, and getting 32 saves from Peter Ross would give them a valuable two points. Peguis would respond with markers from Quinton Flett, Ethan Daniels, Tyrome Spence (2) and Coulson Nepinak. Drey Flett would kick out 30 saves in a losing effort.
The Norway House North Stars would travel north for the start of a weekend double header against the NCN Flames. Looking for just their second victory of the year, they would fall short with a 16-6 loss. The North Stars would get goals from Tyler McKay, Gabriel Menow, Elvis Balfour and Jaden Osborne would chip in a hat trick. Hailey Dixon would stop 35 of 51 in a losing effort. The Flames would score early and often, with goals from Jayden Paul, William Young (2), Trent North, Jonathan Saunders, Michael Venne (2), Jerome Linklater, Lance Laycock (2), Chase Muswagon, Henry Muchikekwanape, Albert Berard (2), James Moore and Keenan Keeper.
SATURDAY
Saturday afternoon action would see the North Stars and Flames take to the ice in Thompson for their second game of the weekend. The Flames would once again pepper North Stars goaltender Hailey Dixon, firing 56 shots on their way to a 17-2 win. The North Stars would get a solid effort from Rixton Flett in scoring twice in the losing effort. The Flames on the other hand would score early and often, getting goals from Drew Tait-Reaume, Trent North, Michael Venne (4!), Jerome Linklater (2), Lance Laycock, Henry Muchikekwanape (5!), Albert Berard and Michael Markus (2). Kruz Mitchell would stop 20 of 22 to pick up the win in net.
Cross Lake would look for their second win down in Peguis Saturday night, but the Peguis Juniors would have other ideas in picking up a nice 7-5 victory. Paced by four goals from league leading scorer Tyrome Spence, they would also get goals from Sundance Paul, Dylan Wilson and Michael Spence to go along with 32 saves from Drey Flett in net. The Islanders would respond with markers from Chris Ross, Wilfred Mcleod, Dennis Scatch, Quinton Scatch and Justin Dorion. Marcus Ross would stop 28 of 35 in a losing effort in net.
SUNDAY
In thier third game in three days with both teams having picked up one win each, the Peguis Juniors would send Cross Lake home with a 1-2 weekend record in dealing them an 11-8 loss. Tyrome Spence would once again pace the offence, putting up four goals and three assists. Curtis Flett, Ethan Daniels (2), Coulson Nepinak, Michael Spence (2) and Dalen Schultz would score, and be aided by a great 20 save effort from Drey Flett in net. The Islanders would get a hat trick from Wilfred Mcleod and other goals from Chris Ross, Brayden Whiskey, Julius Scribe and Justin Dorion with two. Zach Grouette would get the loss stopping 19 of 25, with Peter Ross coming in in relief stopping 27 of 32.
