Jason Tatarnic
Head Coach / General Manager
Coach Tatarnic is entering his 1st season as the Chilliwack Chiefs bench boss. Prior to joining the Chiefs Tatarnic spent eight seasons as the Head Coach of the Maritime Junior A Hockey League's Woodstock Slammers. In the 8 seasons under Tatarnic’s guidance the Slammers won 3 league championships in 2006, 2010, and in 2012, and appeared in the league final in 2008. The Slammers won 4 regular season championship the President's Cups in 2005, 2010, 2011 and 2012. Out of 133 teams they played in the last game of the CJHL season losing to Penticton 4-3 on Championship day.
A native of Thorold, Ontario, Tatarnic graduated from Athol Murray College of Notre Dame where he played for the Junior "A" Hounds then moved on to Brock University, where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation and Leisure Studies. While at Brock, Tatarnic was a three-year member of the Brock Varsity Hockey Team. As a player he was named the "Best All-Around Player" and was selected to attend Team Canada's Training Camp in 1998. Coach Tatarnic has experience playing and coaching in several high performance settings serving as the player/assistant coach of the Amsterdam Tigers of the Dutch Elite League and he Hull Thunder of the British National Hockey League. During his tenure in Europe, Tatarnic was named "Player of the Year" and “Forward of the Year”. Tatarnic retired from professional hockey in 2001 as a member of the Port Huron Border Cats of the United Hockey League.
Coach Tatarnic has never missed post season play in his coaching career. Tatarnic has coached over 70 players that have advanced to Canadian University, US College or Professional hockey. During his coaching career three teams have been nationally ranked in the top five in the country.
Kyle Adams
Associate Coach
Kyle is in his first season as an Associate Coach with the Chiefs.
As a player, Kyle's hockey career started in the Metro Junior Hockey league, expanded to the Ontario Provincial Junior Hockey League, Wilfred Laurier University, and a pro season in the United Hockey League (UHL).
Upon completion of his playing career, Kyle began coaching at the AAA level in the GTHL for three years before moving on to the Junior A ranks where he has spent his last five years coaching. Three of those years were spent with the Woodstock slammers in the Maritime Junior A Hockey League (MJAHL) as an associate coach guiding them to a silver medal at the 2012 Royal Bank Cup, Canada's National Junior A championship.

Paul Nicolls professional experience in hockey includes seven years as both a player and referee. Paul also has 14 years experience working as a personal sports trainer for numerous professional and amateur hockey players.
Paul’s career as a player took him through Canadian Under 18 Program, the BCHL including the Chiefs,
WHL, CIAU, RHI, and NCAA, where he signed a Letter of Intent to Northern Michigan.
