It had been roughly two and-a-half years since a home town BCHL team entertained the crowd at the Cariboo Memorial Recreation Complex. A new era got underway on Friday night as the re-born Williams Lake Timberwolves began their exhibition schedule by defeating the Quesnel Millionaires 5-2.
The Timberwolves got goals from five different scorers with Jesse Bachmeier, Anthony DeLong, Kyle Leung, Justin Bardarson and Gilbert Bilodeau all finding the mark. Manny Haider and Kyle Beaulieu added two assists apiece.
Evan Dauenhauer went the distance in goal for Williams Lake, turning aside 15 of 17 shots as the Timberwolves dominated the shot totals by a count of 42-17.
The same two clubs go at it again on Saturday night in Quesnel.
The Williams Lake Timberwolves’ next pre-season home game is Friday, September 4th against the Prince George Spruce Kings, beginning at 7:30 pm.
