The Keystone Junior Hockey League is excited to announce it's award finalists for the leagues' Top Rookie. The Top Rookie award is bestowed upon an individual determined to be the top first year player in his first season in the league who demonstrates throughout the season the greatest all-around ability during the regular season.
The three nominees (listed in no particular order) are as follows:
Dion Fontaine, OCN Storm - rookie Dion Fontaine took a large role with the OCN Storm this season. Finishing top five in Storm team scoring and in the top ten in league rookie scoring, Fontaine put up 22 goals and 18 assists for 40 points in 26 games.
Wilfred Mcleod, Cross Lake Islanders - rookie Wilfred Mcleod stepped into a deep Cross Lake Islanders team and made an immediate impact. The rookie finished second in team scoring and fourth in league rookie scoring putting up a team leading 36 goals and 26 assists for 62 points in 28 games.
Henry Muchikekwanape, NCN Flames - Henry Muchikekwanape led the offensive charge for the first place Flames this season. In 24 games, Muchikekwanape would pot 44 goals and 38 assists for 82 points. That scoring touch would see him finish the year leading his team and all rookies in scoring and finishing in fourth place in the league scoring race.

A MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT
As the President of the Keystone Junior Hockey League, ahead of the start of a new season, I would like to acknowledge all of the hard work of the KJHL Executive Board, all of the team Governors, General Managers and Coaches on a job well done these past couple of seasons and the importance of keeping Junior Hockey alive and well in the North for our younger generation. The level of competition each team brings makes for exciting hockey, and any team can beat any team on any given night. We are excited for the start of a new season!
