With his 4 goals and 6 points, Alex Nikiforuk has matched his playoff totals of a year ago when he managed 6 assists in 6 games. The pint-sized pivot was clicking at a point-per-game before blowing out a knee in Game Five of the Bulldogs’ first round series versus the Langley Hornets. The courageous Nikiforuk suited up and played with help of a cumbersome knee brace for Game Seven of the Coastal Conference Final against the Victoria Salsa…Other than Nikiforuk, only 3 other Bulldogs have found the net in the post-season. Mitch Bartley has 2 tallies, while David Ullmann and Nenad Gajic have singles…Cole Roberts will serve the second part of a 2-game suspension stemming from a third period incident in Game Two. The usually cool-headed veteran let frustration get the better of him and was called for interfering with Surrey’s goaltender. The ensuing dustup resulted in numerous penalties for both teams and a ten-minute delay…Through 3 games, this first round series has not been officiated as if it were the playoffs. Far too many penalties are being called, especially early in games. The Eagles have been whistled for 70 PIMs, while the Bulldogs have been sent off for alopsided 194.
