2013/14 RECRUITING CLASS

The Saints' recruiting class for the 2013/14 season thus far includes three forwards, four defencemen and two goaltenders. Read below for player biographies and statistics.
 

DARNELL DYCK
Forward
April 18, 1991
Chilliwack, B.C.

Darnell joins the Saints from Lindenwood University of the American Collegiate Hockey Association, where he led all Lions' freshmen scorers. Previously he spent four seasons in the British Columbia Hockey League, scoring 121 points in 118 games over his final two seasons in Langley.

MARKUS MCCREA

Markus bring five seasons of Western Hockey League and United States Hockey League experience to the Saints. He was an impact addition for the Youngstown Phantoms last season, posting career highs in goals, points and penalty minutes while providing veteran leadership during the team's run to the Conference Finals.

GARRETT KUCHER

Garrett returns to Selkirk College after a brief stint with the Saints during the first half of the 2011/12 season. He went on to complete his junior career with the KIJHL's Osoyoos Coyotes, where he topped the 20-goal and 50-point marks as the team's captain last season.

STEFAN GONZALES
Defenceman

Stefan joins the Saints after being named the Pacific Junior Hockey League's Top Defenceman last season as a member of the Aldergrove Kodiaks. He spent the previous three seasons in the British Columbia Hockey League, where he earned a reputation as a smooth-skating, shutdown defenceman.

RYAN PROCYSHYN
Defenceman

Surrey, B.C.

Ryan joins the Selkirk defence corps following three-plus seasons in the Pacific Junior Hockey League, primarily with the Aldergrove Kodiaks and Delta Ice Hawks. This season he set career-highs with 25 assists and 30 points in 45 games played and was named as a PJHL Tom Shaw Conference All-Star.

ARIE POSTMUS

Arie comes to Selkirk College after three seasons as a standout blueliner with the KIJHL's Beaver Valley Nitehawks. An assistant captain with the Nitehawks during the past two seasons, Postmus helped lead Beaver Valley to a KIJHL Championship during the 2011/12 season.

TANNER LENTING

Tanner joins the Saints after captaining the Pacific Junior Hockey League's North Delta Devils during the 2012/13 season. He also got his first taste of BCHL action as a 20-year old, when he dressed in 13 regular season and playoff games for the league champion Surrey Eagles.

MYLES HOVDEBO
Goaltender

Swift Current, SK

Myles is the second former Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League starter to join the Saints in the last year, following in the footsteps of 2012/13 Playoff MVP Alex Sirard. He spent three seasons in LaRonge, helping the Ice Wolves to a league championship in 2011 while leading the SJHL in shots faced and saves.

MARCUS BEESLEY

Marcus began and ended his junior hockey career locally with the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League's Nelson Leafs. He started the 2011/12 season in the BCHL with the Prince George Spruce Kings, where he picked up six wins in 13 appearances.
