The NCHL brought many of the league's founders to a pre-game ceremony to commemorate it's 30th Anniversary in Westlock on Saturday night. There were also a number of the league's record holders present as well as the league's current executive. Invitees came from all over - Stettler, Red Deer, Eckville, Rosalind, Edmonton, St Albert, Barrhead, Edson, Fort Assiniboine, Fox Creek, Athabasca, Slave Lake, Devon and Westlock.
The dignitaries were all introduced to the crowd and there were short speeches by past President George Vanberg and current President Jerry Muise. Gift presentations were given to Vanberg and Past President Sam Maupin. After the ceremony, the group gathered in the VIP section set aside by the Warriors and enjoyed drinks, snacks and lots of old stories.

All in all, it was a great opportunity to meet up with some of the league's fore-fathers and record holders. Big thanks go out to both the Westlock Warriors and the Devon Barons for being patient while the introductions were going on. Nathan Brown of the Warriors was extremely helpful in organizing the VIP section, bringing in the pizza, pop, wings, veggie trays and handing out drink tickets to those attending. Thanks again to all that showed up to share this enjoyable evening.
