The Keystone Junior Hockey League is excited to announce the 2023-2024 regular season schedule, which will see the season start on Saturday September 30, 2023. The opening weekend will see six games take place over two days, seeing three teams host their home-openers. Over the course of the season, each team will play a 36-game schedule in which they will take on each KJHL member club 6 times each. A total of 126 regular season games will take place over the course of the year.
The reigning six-time KJHL 'Ed Albert Cup' postseason champion Peguis Juniors will start their title defense on opening night at home against the Cross Lake Islanders on Saturday September 30, as they raise their provincial championship banner. They will look to return another deep postseason run and return to the Central Canada Cup this upcoming season.
This season will feature the arrival of the expansion Waywayseecappo Wild. They will play their home games at the Waywayseecappo Arena Complex, sharing the facility with the Waywayseecappo Wolverines of the MJHL. The Wild will open their campaign on the road taking on the OCN Storm on opening weekend. The much-anticipated home-opener for the Wild will be Saturday October 7 at 7:30pm as they host the NCN Flames. Each team's home-opener is as follows:
- Cross Lake Islanders - Wednesday October 4th at 7:30pm vs. Norway House North Stars
- NCN Flames - Wednesday October 18th at 7:30pm vs. Cross Lake Islanders
- Norway House North Stars - Saturday October 7th at 7:30pm vs. Peguis Juniors
- OCN Storm - Saturday September 30th at 7:30pm vs. Waywayseecappo Wild
- PBCN Selects - Saturday September 30th at 7:30pm vs. NCN Flames
- Peguis Juniors - Saturday September 30th at 7:30pm vs. Cross Lake Islanders
- Waywayseecappo Wild - Saturday October 7th at 7:30pm vs. NCN Flames
This year will see the return of the KJHL Showcase. Teams will play 2 or 3 games in Winnipeg, Manitoba. After a resounding success last season which saw KJHL players, coaches and officials scouted for advancement we are hoping to see continued growth and development this season.
