Return To Play Protocols

 

Notice:

This page will be updated on a regular basis due to the frequent changes in the OHF, OMHA, Hockey Canada and Province guidelines.

 These are the current guidelines with all of our stakeholders and are subject to change as we move through the various phases of reopening. 

  • You must complete a Health Screening app or Paper screening document  prior to entering the facility 
  • You must check-in with your coach prior to entering the facility 
  • You must be at your designated entry door 15 minutes prior to your ice time, if you are late unfortunately you will not be given access to the facility 
  • No spectators, 1 guardian per player *NEW* 
  • There are no in and out privileges 
  • There are designated entrances to each pad of ice. 
  • There is no walking through the arena to other ice pads (special circumstances approved in advance may be allowed)
  • Don't forget your mask! 
  • Players or spectators  are not permitted to approach the referees following the game (off the ice). The City of Pickering/OMHA may ban that parent from attending any further games for the remainder of the season.  Due to Covid the City is going to be strict on all the rules. 

  • No one is allowed in the bench arena expect coach and coaching staff. Parents must watch from the designated areas

  • There will be a maximum occupancy of 19 persons permitted in any of the three pads or areas at Don Beer Arena.
  • There will be a maximum of 10 players/participants and 2 coaches allowed on the ice at any given time. Benches are considered ice area.
  • Only training and skills sessions are permitted.  No games or scrimmages are allowed.  2 meters or 6 foot physical distancing protocols must be adhered to during on ice activities.
  • Only one parent or guardian will be permitted access to the pad or area per child participating in on ice activities under the age of 18.
  • No spectators will be allowed within the facility for on ice participants 18 years of age and above.

 

MHA and the City of Pickering, however, changes may occur prior to our official start. We remain committed to sharing information with you as it becomes available. Please ensure you visit the website and follow us on social media for updates.

It will take a strong collective effort from our volunteers, coaches, players, and parents to ensure a safe and positive return to hockey. We are confident our hockey community will meet this challenge and we look forward to seeing you at the rink soon.
