Witnesses claim they haven't seen an uglier dive since Greg Louganis whacked his head against the board in the '88 Olympics, but nonetheless the #6 Astros got what they wanted as they will play the #3 Pirates in the playoff opener on Monday night. The nightcap will feature the top-seeded Brewers taking on the hapless Mets. 

On Tuesday the #4 Expos will look to replicate their thrashing of the #5 Twins in the early contest; in the last quarterfinal the #2 A's will square off against the #7 Yankees. Wednesday's semi-finals will have Brewers/Mets winner facing the Expos/Twins victor in one game and the A's/Yanks survivor playing the Pirates/Astros winner, with the Championship set for Thursday evening.
