RIVER EDGE ADULT SOFTBALL LEAGUE
Playoffs on the Horizon
- Submitted by

With one week left in the soggy regular season (and shockingly there’s potential rain this week as well...), only 2 of the 8 playoff seeds have been determined: the Twins will be 7th and the Expos have locked up the 8th spot.

The Mets currently reside in 1st place and will clinch the top seed with a win over the Yankees; otherwise the Flushing Flash will finish 2nd. If the Mets falter then the Brewers/Astros victor will finish 1st; otherwise that winner will be the 2nd seed. If the Yankees and Astros both win then the Yankees and Brewers will flip for 3rd place.

The Pirates and A’s are tied for 5th so the winner of their contest tomorrow will earn the 5 seed and the loser will be 6th. If that game is somehow rained out (perish the thought) then the Pirates will finish 5th by virtue of their earlier win over the A’s.
