FOUR CANADIANS CAPPED AT BC PLACE

At half-time of the Rugby Wold Cup Qualifier Game at BC Place last Saturday, current and former Canadian Internationals were presented their official Rugby Canada caps from their test debuts. The practice is an initiative of Rugby Canada and the Canadian Rugby Foundation, as both organizations work to award all players who were capped for Canada with their official cap.

Cameron Pierce

Cameron Pierce played 2^nd row for the Kelowna Crows and UVic Vikes. He represented Canada at the U20 level and earned five caps for the Senior team since his debut in 2013. He played 6 years of professional rugby in the French Academy, ProD2, Top 14 & Challenge Cup, winning two National titles. Recently retiring due to concussion, Cameron would like to thank his friends, family, past coaches, and teammates for the support.

Tony Healy

Tony Healy began playing rugby at 24 after three friends convinced him to give it a try. After 3 years with James Bay Athletic Association, he debuted for Canada in 1996, earning 15 caps. Tony played professional in France for 8 years. He returned to Canada to give back to the game that made his dreams come true. Today, Tony Healy is the Head Coach of the Seattle Seawolves.

Karen Paquin

Karen Paquin began her rugby career in Quebec, playing age-grade and senior before representing Canada for the first time in 2013, earning 26 fifteens caps. She attended the two most recent fifteens World Cups, including the historic silver medal finish at the 2014 Women’s World Cup in France. Karen was also a member of the Sevens team that won Bronze at the Rio Olympics.

Calum Morrison

Callum Morrison, the son of BC Rugby Hall of Famer Keith Morrison and University champion Morven Inglis, earned 5 caps for Canada. Callum would like to thank his late father, his mum and all the coaches who helped him achieve his dream. He also wants to thank his fiancée, Morgan Quinn, for supporting him.
