The Inline Hockey New Zealand (IHNZ) Junior Hockey system is set to evolve in 2025—replacing the previous conference structure. The new structure was developed based on feedback provided by club presidents. You can read a Quick Summary of the changes here.
This is just one prong of our junior hockey strategy for 2025. The Board is currently consulting with clubs about the possible introduction of a junior draft league system, as well as a Rookie League for 14U and 16U players who are not yet ready for the intensity of regular leagues. More information about the all-female leagues for Junior and Intermediate Women will also be available soon.
