Quesnel Millionaires would like to extend an invitation to attend our annual Hockey School and Conditioning Camp.

We are dedicated in providing a safe, fun, and exciting experience that will focus on skill development.  Our hockey school will focus on the skills of skating, passing, shooting, puck protection, and will touch on the fundamentals of team play in a game environment.  We will be providing off-ice activities during the day as well.  These activities will include ultimate frisbee, flag football, soccer, softball and bowling.

Thank you for your interest in our hockey school and conditioning camp.  We are looking forward to another successful event.

Tentative Hockey School Schedule

Speed and Skill – Will run from 5:30 – 6:30 daily
 
Conditioning Camp – Will run from 7:30 – 9pm each evening. 

 

 Millionaires Hockey School Program (6-8) (9-10) (11-12)
 
On Ice
 
Each Player will receive 10 hours of on ice instruction with the Millionaire Coaches and Players. Each session will include a progression of individual skills and team concepts including the following:
 
                        Passing/Receiving
                        Shooting
                        Puck Handling
                        Puck Progression
                        Power Skating (included in every session)
 
There will also be an introduction to a variety of team concepts involving defensive awareness and offensive attack options.
 
Goaltenders will receive 1on1 instruction with a goaltender coach that will include a daily progression as well as an evaluation checklist for skill and technique.
 
NOTE: A low player to instructor ratio will promote development through movement and 1on1 instruction.
 
NEWSpeed and Skill Session- (13-15yr)
Each Player will receive position specific instruction through a variety of drills and activities to promote development on speed and skill for forwards and defenceman.
 
Sessions will include:
                        Quick feet
                        Shooting/Deflections
                        Passing/Receiving
                        Puck Handling/Puck Protection
                        Defensive Awareness/Positioning
                        Offensive Attack Options/Support
 

Off Ice Program
 
Each player will receive 5 hours of off ice instruction through a variety of games and activities that will promote the importance of cooperation as it relates to team play and related fitness components. Games and Activities will include:
 
Fun - competitive team relays
Competitive games to promote team work
Speed and Strength activities
Swimming (tentative)
Bowling
Introduction to self defense
Approximately 15 minutes per player on skating treadmill as an
Introduction to stride training.
NOTE
The Millionaires Hockey School will work hard to make the week a fun experience for your son/daughter. 2 group leaders (Millionaire players or prospects) will be assigned to each group to ensure proper supervision throughout the day. Respect, Fair Play, Hard Work and Development will be a priority along with a zero tolerance attitude toward bullying.
 
 
Theory Sessions
Each player will receive approximately 40 minutes each day in a classroom setting to reinforce on the on ice skill sessions as well as information on nutrition, mental preparation and the importance of hydration(water) before, during and after competition.
