Surrey Sharks Club Information

The Surrey Sharks Field Hockey Club is based in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada and has players from Surrey, Delta, Cloverdale, Langley, White Rock and various other communities in the Lower Mainland. The Sharks Club is always looking for new members to participate in the Minis program, the Junior or Women's leagues.

The club was started in 1995 by Deanna and Don Wilson and has grown from 15 players to now more than 300 members.

The Sharks Minis Program

The Surrey Sharks run a House League for our U6 to U10 Minis age groups. The Minis play on a 1/8 field with 6 players on each team. The Minis season runs from April until the end of June with practices starting in late March. The program is open to both boys and girls. Games are played on the weekends with one practice held during the week.

Minis normally play their games on Saturdays, with most (if not all) of their games at home. 
 

The Sharks Junior Program

The Surrey Sharks are active participants in the Greater Vancouver Junior Field Hockey League with teams registered in age group from Under 11 to Under 18. The junior season runs from April until the end of June with practices and clinics starting in March. The league is open to both boys and girls. Games are played on the weekends with one practice held during the week.

Girls U11, U12, U14, U16 and Boys U12, U16 normally play their games on Saturdays.

Girls U13, U15, U17, U18 and Boys U14, U18 normally play their games on Sundays.

Games are equally divided between home and away. Away games may require travelling to Vancouver, Richmond, Burnaby, Coquitlam or West Vancouver, based on the schedule.

The Sharks Women's Program

The Club has Women’s teams that play in Divisions 1, 2, 4, and 5 in the Vancouver Women’s League. The Women's league runs from September to March and is open to players 13 years and older.

Some teams are comprised of very competitive players while other teams have a wide range of players, both in age and skill. If you never played before, have not played in many years or are an experienced player, please contact us, we have a team for you.

Games are played on the weekends and practices are held on weekday evenings.
 

The Sharks Men's Program

The Surrey Sharks currently have one Men's team that plays in the Recreational Division in the Vancouver Men's League. Like the Women's League, the season is from September to March and is open to players 14 years and older. Games are played on the weekends and practices are held on weekday evenings.
