Harter’s Sewing Sweatshop

Harter’s Sewing Sweatshop

Walbridge

Tonight’s B2 Carmel Hockey by the Highways, Byways, and Roundabouts is brought to you in part by Harter’s Sewing Sweatshop, where one person does the work of three.  Intensity and effort are core qualities of America’s favorite drip team, the Golden Showers, who faced off against Blackness tonight, those sexy Cougars that undressed our American heroes in the first matchup 7-4 on 9/14/23.      The player that works the hardest to build our hockey community is typically rewarded, and credit due to our fearless pilot/goaltender who is a master of swag.

Unfortunately, the Black Death has an unusually high quotient of skilled passers, and the first period involved some chasing around by the Drip Squad.  On the Day of the Dead, the Captain Fazio started things off at 19:02 with a typical surgical placement of a goal, with the setup from Ohio Brady.  Later, Fazio told me to watch his upcoming epic play in the waning moments of the third period (which actually almost worked, to be fair), but Sweatshop Americans demanded a three to one ratio all night long.

An American treasure that doesn’t need an introduction here named Peters then made an early effort for the Golden Jacket, as he set up Williams, Kane, and then Kang to make it 3-1 at the end of the first period.  America’s bench was fairly certain that Peters would win the Jacket again.

The scoring sheet meant to give captain Golden Showers the first goal of the second period as #20, as we don’t have a #30.  Of course, Peters got his fourth assist on four goals by feeding Benson, who set up the captain.  Then, at 14:52, Peters set up Kane again to make it 5-1.

Walton made it 2-5 on a muscular play in the crease, and Ohio Brady got credit again for a second assist.  Who knows if these things are accurate?  Talus, from Kane and Wittmeyer, made it 6-2 at 4:28 to finish the scoring for two periods.  The ratio was intact.

American’s favorite point scorer finally scored a goal at 16:22 in the third period, and finishing with 6 points is kind of average for Peters.  Kane and Sujka set him up to make it 7-2.

Martens scored from Fazio at 3.58, and it left the ratio in the balance.  The Golden Showers spray evenly throughout, so Williams gave me the puck in front of the net on Potash by myself.  We had a bit of a standoff, but I bested him this time, though I had several other failed shots.  It was a pretty shot, and then Kang from Wittmeyer kept the 3:1 harmonics promise.  9-3 win for America over darkness.

The Gold Jacket honors went to our goaltender Harter tonight for his beer league shutout against a team that is a dangerous competitor to win it all.  This league only gets more intriguing every week, with an honorable intrigue mention to Walton for chopping down Kane trees in the most aggressive penalty of the evening.
