Colorado Douses Flame 144-132

    The Phoenix Flame was unable to stop the Colorado Crossover on its impressive roll of late in the first game of a two-game weekend series. Colorado improved to 11-6  with its ninth straight win, downing Phoenix 144-132 Friday night.

Phillip Hillstock led all scorers with a game-high 33 points and Darius Pope added 32 to power the Crossover to the win. Ronald Rhea pitched in 24 points in the winning effort.

Phoenix (5-6) had four scorers with at least 20 points, paced by Omar "The Big Kahuna" Waller and his 23 points. Larry Morinia and Del Summers each chipped in 22 while James Singleton added 20 in the loss.

Monte Jones scored 16 for the Flame and Steven Moss-Kelley scored 15 in the team's first game back after a lengthy layoff.

Phoenix and Colorado played a second game the next night with a different result.

NOTES: This was the second time this season Phoenix and Colorado played a 12-point game and the Crossover has won both of them. The first one was a 110-98 win at Grand Canyon University...Phoenix has scored more than 130 points for the third straight game.
