The Okotoks Bisons have announced that Chris Beston has been named the Head Coach of the Heritage Junior Hockey League club.
Beston, 35, has previously served as an assistant coach with the Okotoks Oilers of the Alberta Junior Hockey League from 2008-2010. The Okotoks, Alta. product has also coached in the Okotoks Minor Hockey Association with both the male and female programs.
Prior to coaching, Beston was a sixth round selection of the Calgary Hitmen at the 1997 WHL Bantam Draft. He would go on to play parts of two seasons with the Hitmen, as well as stints with the Olds Grizzlys and Calgary Canucks. Beston was a member of the 1998 Mac’s AAA Hockey Tournament championship UFA Bisons squad.
The Bisons also announced that Ryan Carson has been named an assistant coach.
Carson has been involved with the Okotoks Minor Hockey Association as a coach and previously suited up for the SAIT Trojans and Calgary Canucks prior to coaching.
