The Wheatland Kings extended their streak, while the Wranglers took over top spot in the North.

Blackfalds (6) vs. Red Deer (2)

BLACKFALDS – Fifty-two saves from Lane Brann helped the Blackfalds Wranglers skate to a 6-2 win over the Red Deer Vipers on Tuesday evening.

Led by a goal and two helpers off the stick of Shawn Rowe, six different skaters in total found the back of the net for the Wranglers (10-2-0), which jumped out to a 2-0 lead after 20 minutes and 3-1 lead going into the final frame.

Landon Siegle and Bronson Spearing each finished with a goal and assist, while Braden Olsen, Dylan Scheunert and Ryan Chambers rounded out the scoring.

Dalton Angeltvedt and Declan Johnston had the goals for Red Deer (8-4-1), which got 34 saves from goaltender Cole Sears.

GAME SUMMARY

Strathmore (6) vs. Okotoks (4)

STRATHMORE – Garret Vander Ploeg had a pair of goals to pace the Strathmore Wheatland Kings to their fifth consecutive victory as they took a 6-4 home-ice win over the Okotoks Bisons on Tuesday night.

George Montour chipped in with a goal and assist for Strathmore (8-4-1), while Quintin Vaugeois, Jake Johnston and Matt Thomson each added a single.

Indiana Kelly won his fourth straight start between the pipes for Strathmore, making 36 saves on the night.

The Bisons (9-5-1) got a pair of goals from Joshua McCulloch, while Jason Horn and Kyle Becker rounded out the scoring.

Nicholas Ewanchuk turned aside 26 shots in the loss.
