The Colts and Generals had the dance floor to themselves on Wednesday, and what a game it turned out to be.

Mountainview (7) vs. Cochrane (6)

DIDSBURY – Corbin Houchin’s power-play marker with 3:38 remaining in the third period gave the Mountainview Colts a thrilling 7-6 win over the Cochrane Generals on Wednesday evening.

Spencer Dowd and Eric Van Tetering each found the back of the net twice for Mountainview (8-4-2), while Quintin Thorburn and Alan Klinck rounded out the scoring, each adding a single.

It was a wild game that saw the Generals (7-7-0) take a 1-0 lead just 29 seconds into the first period, only to see the Colts finish the frame out front with a 3-1 lead. The teams traded goals in the middle stanza, making it a 5-3 game, before the Generals were able to battle back and knot the score at five midway through the third period.

Klinck restored the Colts lead with a power-play goal, however Carter Cugnet would once again find the equalizer for Cochrane 1:41 later. However, exactly two minutes after that, Houchin would seal the deal with Mountainview’s third power-play marker of the night.

Brandon Aab scored twice for the Generals, while Slater Ransom and Braden Bain each tallied a single.

Ethan Woodward made 40 saves in the Mountainview crease, while Colton Anderson led all skaters with four points, all assists.
