HJHL Roundup: Coaldale outlasts Medicine Hat

In a rare one-game Saturday in the HJHL, it was the Coaldale offence that had the spotlight to themselves.

COALDALE – Six different players found the back of the net as the Coaldale Copperheads used a balanced attack to skate to a 6-4 win over the Medicine Hat Cubs on Saturday evening.

Troy Feldbusch and Riese Nevil found the back of the net for the Copperheads (9-6-0) in the first period, while Brandyn Howg and Sam Paskuski added to the lead in the middle frame.

After the Cubs (6-8-0) were able to come back and knot the score up at four, Tyler Anderson made good work on the man-advantage, firing him the winner with 2:14 to go, while Clayton Nevil added another power-play marker to seal the deal with 27 seconds remaining.

Noah Irvine was sensational for the Cubs, scoring three times and added one assist. Riley Florkowski had the other marker.

Nolan Berner turned aside 30-of-34 shots fired his direction to grab his fourth win of the season in the Coaldale crease.
