Three games. Four hat tricks. It was a high scoring day in the HJHL on Sunday.

High River (7) vs. Blackfalds (5)

BLACKFALDS – A three-goal outing off the stick of Davis Sheldon propelled the High River Flyers to a 7-5 road victory over the Blackfalds Wranglers on Sunday.

Connor Minchin added a goal and assist for the Flyers (9-7-3), while netminder Dylan Jensen stood on his head, making 44 saves on the day.

Landon Siegle replied with a hat trick of his own for the Wranglers (11-4-0), while Tyrees Goodrunning and Braidon Westin added singles.

Half of the game’s offence came in the middle stanza where six goals were scored. Blackfalds entered the period with a 2-1 lead, only to find themselves trailing 5-4 after 40 minutes.

Braiden Burke, Michael McTighe and Ryan Kanten rounded out the scoring for the Flyers.

Rylan Bardick made 26 saves in the loss.

GAME SUMMARY

Okotoks (7) vs. Ponoka (3)

OKOTOKS – Robbie McLean scored three times and setup two others to power the Okotoks Bisons to a 7-3 win over the Ponoka Stampeders.

Kyle Harrison chipped in with a goal and two helpers for the Bisons (12-5-1), while Dallas Otto, Taylor McNeill and Nicholas Murrell rounded out the scoring.

Devin Reagan stopped 40-of-43 shots fired his way in the Okotoks crease, earning his 11th win of the season in the process.

Brayden Wells, Taite Opdendries and Austin Ancion each added a single for Ponoka (3-10-2).

The Bisons have now won three straight games.

GAME SUMMARY

Coaldale (12) vs. Three Hills (0)

COALDALE – Jayden Smith had six points as the Coaldale Copperheads cruised to a 12-0 shutout win over the Three Hills Thrashers on Sunday evening.

Smith scored three times, while also picking up three assists. Teammate Calvin Swanson had a four-point outing, scoring once and setting up three others, while Brandyn Howg had two goals and one helper.

Andrew Suriano stopped all 26 shots he faced to earn his fourth win, and first shutout, of the season in the Coaldale (11-7-1) crease.

Josh Fernandez, Jayden Bexte, Turner Sharp, Cody Riehl, Logan Middleton and Mitchell Konschuk rounded out the scoring for the Copperheads, which scored four goals in all three periods.

Sam Paskuski finished the night with three helpers.
